Celsius to Fahrenheit Conversions

Temperature conversion questions are common. The standard formulas are:

  • Fahrenheit to Celsius: C=59(F32)C = \frac{5}{9}(F - 32)
  • Celsius to Fahrenheit: F=95C+32F = \frac{9}{5}C + 32

A shortcut for Celsius to Fahrenheit:

  1. Double the Celsius temperature.
  2. Subtract 10% of this doubled number.
  3. Add 32.

For 20°C: 20×2=40404=3636+32=68°F20 \times 2 = 40 \rightarrow 40 - 4 = 36 \rightarrow 36 + 32 = 68°F. It's also useful to memorize key points: 0°C = 32°F, 100°C = 212°F, and -40°C = -40°F.
